Abstract

At some point in your Oracle Designer work, you will find something that you want to do that the tools will not do for you. The good news is that you have access to the same application programmatic interface (API) calls that the Oracle Designer tools use. With this API, you can build your own front-end utilities to perform repetitive tasks, write customized reports or create your own front-end GUI tools. Knowledge of the API is not optional if you want to do any serious work with the tool. This presentation provides an overview of the Oracle Designer API including some little-known tips and features.
